The first time I used an automated controller that was supposed to put the batteries in parallel when voltage was 13v or so, then separate them below that, holding the second battery in reserve until you pushed the starter button when they were put back in parallel allowing the reserve battery to jump start the main battery. I've yet to determine exactly how the "bidirectional charging" feature is going to work and if the charger will charge both batteries when connected to the spare.ĭual battery, take two. The hot jump lead on the engine was too hard to reach with the skid plate in place so I took it off, but it's easy enough to just pop the seat to charge/jump. The only item I have left to wire is a status indicator on the dash because the one on the isolator is hard to see from the seat of the bike, especially with the skid plate in place. I connected the boost lead to the hot lead on the control side of the starter relay so that when I hit the starter both batteries kick in.
